What is Whipps Cross Hospital Charity and what does it do?
Whipps Cross Hospital Charity raises money to complement funds provided by the NHS, benefiting our staff, our patients and their families. The Charity is a separate body to the NHS Trust and has had registered charity status since 1995.
Donations really can make the difference, from providing those little extras to funding large pieces of state-of-the-art equipment and resources that we could not otherwise afford, for example:
- three incubators for our Special Care Baby Unit (£29,202)
- complementary therapies as part of palliative care in the Margaret Centre (£6,925)
- a Laser System for the operating theatres (£20,968)
- five infusion pumps for the Cardiac Unit (£8,700)
Sometimes the charity launches a big appeal for an area of the hospital in particular need of charitable support, such as The Big Push appeal for our Maternity Unit.
