Welcome to Whipps Cross - The People's Hospital
Whipps Cross University Hospital NHS Trust aims to put patients first and improve the health of individuals through high quality, cost effective services.
We provide healthcare services to people mainly from Waltham Forest, west Redbridge, Essex and east London, funded by local primary care trusts.
URGENT MESSAGE: Norovirus update
The previous visitor restrictions have now been lifted at Whipps Cross University Hospital. All are asked to ensure they wash their hands with soap and water when onsite.
A small number of wards remain closed and relatives need to check with the hospital before leaving home. If the ward you wish to visit is closed, you must still confirm if you are allowed onto the ward with the Ward Sister where permission will be granted in exceptional circumstances only.
The additional security presence used during this time will also stand down from today.
The Health4Nel Roadshow planned for Tuesday 26 January was postponed. A new date will be announced shortly.
Anyone who has had any vomiting and / or diarrhoea within the last 7 days and / or is unwell, feeling unwell (e.g. suffering a tummy bug) should not attend hospital.
First ports of call should be to NHS Direct on 0845 46 47 or via the website: www.nhsdirect.nhs.uk and GP practices, including out-of-hours services.
If you need to attend hospital for an appointment where possible please attend alone and ensure you go directly to the location, leaving promptly after this visit.
